Express design and production of 350 name card stands

Not every job reaches us with a comfortable time buffer. Sometimes an inquiry comes in at the last minute and the date of the event can no longer be moved. This collaboration was exactly that kind of case.

Customer requirements

A creative agency approached us with an express request to produce name card holders for a very important event. The customer already had the name cards prepared, so the holders had to fit their exact size.

The customer came with a first design of their own. It was deliberately conservative, because producing a more complex holder using conventional methods would have been time-consuming. After a joint consultation, we reworked the design into elegant raised name card holders. Changing the angle may seem like a small thing, but the customer was delighted with it.

Design and production

As we were really up against the deadline, we completed the whole design within a single day. The stands were intended for a social event, so appearance mattered as much as precision. We chose elegant black PLA and set the print parameters to make the stands look their best. The model, the prototype print and the customer’s approval all happened in one go, and the entire series of 350 pieces went into production straight afterwards.

Our farm has ample capacity for this type of job. The model was approved on Friday, and on Monday the whole order was already on its way to the customer. During inspection we checked the quality of the parts and that the dimensions were kept, so the customer’s name cards would fit reliably.
